This is the gravel bike that doesn't know its place — and that's exactly the point. The Stigmata blurs the lines between a free-roading drop-bar singletrack slicer and a buckled-down race-winning gravel machine, and the 2026 Force 1x AXS RSV build is its most trail-capable expression yet.
Built around Santa Cruz's fourth-generation CC carbon frame — their highest-grade layup — the Stigmata features mountain bike-inspired progressive geometry: longer, lower, and slacker than traditional gravel bikes. The short stem combined with that slackened head angle keeps the steering lively, giving you drop-bar confidence on terrain where most gravel bikes would beg for mercy.
The RockShox Rudy Ultimate XPLR suspension fork up front delivers 40mm of travel to smooth out chunk and square-edge hits, while the SRAM Force AXS XPLR wireless 1x groupset keeps things clean and cable-free. The Force AXS drivetrain impresses with fast, accurate shifts, and the chain stays unmoved by drops, jumps, and the repetitive chatter of rocky sections and exposed roots. A wireless RockShox Reverb XPLR dropper post rounds out the off-road package — dropping the saddle a centimetre or so on singletrack makes it act like a pseudo suspension seatpost, effectively taking the edge off the rear wheel slamming into roots, holes, and rocky obstacles.
The frame accepts up to 700x50mm tires, and triple bottle mounts make it equally ready for long bikepacking adventures as it is for race day. Available in Matte Carbon and British Racing Green.
